How can I keep my cat from eating too fast?

I actually spread my cat's food in low, wide bowl, and stick it in the freezer for a while till it's pretty much frozen. This forces her to lick it, so it takes her about 20-30 minutes to eat the same amount that literally took her 60 seconds before.

Cats are very fussy, so you could try giving the cat food that it doesn't like as much. Another option would be to only give the cat snall amounts of her favorite food at a time. that way you can control the intake by how much you are giving her at any one time.

You could try buying a toy that you can put food into so that when your cat plays with it little bits of food come out slowly. You could also try to give your cat a little bit of food at a time or do small multiple feedings a day.

My suggestion would be to only give your cat small portions of food. Start with a very small amount and slowly work your way up. This way, you have control and hopefully your cat will be encouraged to eat more slowly.
