I would buy one of those bee traps that you put meat in. That smell attracts them and keeps them away, and that way you catch them. Then put the trap in the freezer to kill the bees.

The question was how to keep Bees away...not wasps. Bees are NOT carnivores.  add a comment

Do not put any pot plants near the swimming area, and plant any flowers near the pool. Any green bushes you would like to grow make sure they do not flower because any plant that has pollen attracts bees.

Put some meat or bones on a dish somewhere away from the swimming pool and the bees will swarm it and stay away from the pool. For best results, put two meat offerings in different spots away from the pool.

This works for wasps, not honey bees. Bees gather nectar and pollen.  add a comment

Bees need water to survive, like all creatures. However, you can discourage bees at your pool by following this easy, evironmentally friendly advice. Fill a spray bottle with 1/4 cup dish soap and water. Spray any bees you see. This will kill bees without contaminating your pool with pesticides.

If you notice bees around your swimming pool mix fill an empty sprayer bottle with water and a 1/4 cup of dish soap. Using the soap mixture in the bottle, spray any bees. The bees will die quickly and no harmful pesticide residue will be left.

Change the viscosity of the water so the bees cannot land and attach to the sides. Do this by getting SKILL-IT, an algaecide available at pool stores. It works great. The bees will drown and not be able to get back and alert the others, who will go elsewhere.
