How can I improve the poor quality of the radio reception in a metal building?

I work in a warehouse, in an office. The building is metal, so I get poor radio reception while I'm working. Is there something I can use to improve it?

If you were so inclined, you could turn the whole metal building into an antenna, but you would need some kind of way to "tune" it, and probably a power source. The best option for you would be to try to put an antenna on the roof, and run a wire down to your radio.

Here are some ways: Get a better antenna, get somewhere higher, try a different radio, if you can try a different wavelength and finally sit next to a window.

There are several types of antenna signal boosters you can try to boost your signal. Make sure the booster uses power (like plugs in to the wall) or it isn't worth anything. Your best bet is to find a way to mount an antenna outside of the building and run the wire inside to your office.

Try an outside antenna. Or you may need to switch to XM radio, some companies are willing to pay to have it available to their workers.

Metal is bad for cell phones, radios and tv reception. The best to handle all three of these is to place the item as close to the outer wall as possible. Preferably by a window. Window areas seem to make the radio work better. Also you might use a little antenna.
