There are plenty of searches you can find on google that can help. Go to a plant forum and post a picture and ask if any can help.

You can search online to identify it through pictures. or you can take a sampling of it to your local nursery and see if they can identify it for you.

The easiest way is to take it to a plant expert or post a picture of it on a message board dedicated to plants.

A good starting point would be going to your local greenhouse. Bringing a sample, like a leaf or flower may help an expert identify your plant. Biology books may help, but the search can be overwhelming if you have no experience in the subject. Try the plant shops and ask around!

Each plant will have a common name, and a Latin name. For the most part, knowing the common name should allow you to find the growing requirements of your plant. Latin names are often better,as they are universal. But no one is forcing you to learn the names of your plants, and certainly not the Lat in names.

You have several options. Look it up on line by googling it or visit your local nursery and take a picture of your plant with you. You can also post a picture online and have other people give you ideas.
