Keep the light turned off when not needed in the tank. It also helps to buy an algae eating fish to keep in the tank.

To eliminate algae completely would be almost impossible but the best thing to do is just clean the aquarium by hand with a sponge or brush regularly and get an algea eater in there to help you out.

It is best to use a gravel vacuum and algae scrubber for this job. Do not use a kitchen sponge. You might have to clean the tank every day for a while until you get the problem under control. And be sure not to overfeed your fish.

unless it is growing like hair algae but in branche like deer antlers near the surface, it is likely fungus, not algae. To remove the white staghorn algae soak affected equipment in 25% bleach solution to remove it. it is difficult to remove mechanically.

Well, to eliminate this I suggest using a vinegar based spray and spraying it in there to clean the water and detoxify out all of the parasites particularly the white algae.
