How can firewalls be built into a ceiling?

Check with the building inspector of the city, first. If he says ok, which i think he would, proceed. The firewall will contain the fire, if there was one, and this would protect the above floors for starting on fire. They probably would only get smoke damage,and the building won't be destroyed.

Well it is difficult to construct the firewall over the ceiling unless it is on a different floor altogether. Then you can wire the firewall so that it does not interfere with ceiling mechanisms.
