Since you evidently don't know much about A3 paper you are probably from the US or Canada, the only two countries in the world where "A" series paper is not 'standard'. A3 sized paper is 11. 69 x 16. 54 inches, and half an A3 sheet (called A4) is 8. 27 by 11. 69 inches, which is very close to the US standard 8. 5x11

A sheet of A3 size paper is 11. 7 by 16. 5 inches, or 297 by 420 millimeters. A piece of paper this size, which is slightly larger than US letter size, could be used to print a small poster. It can also be folded once to create a four-page A4-sized document.
