Hibiscus are rated to USDA zone 4 for winter tolerance, and to zone 9 for heat. Hibiscus should be cut right back to the ground in fall, and they will grow back in spring blooming in mid to late summer. Hibiscus also makes a wonderful indoor container plant which completely removes the caution of which zone to plant in.

You can either look on the back of the pack or look on the back of the plastic tab they put in the pot and it will tell on there what the zones are there will be a color coded map on it.

These type of plants usually grow in the zone in the central america time. If you plant anywhere else they wont grow. You must also provide water for these plants.
