There are a number of vegetables that might fit this description, but I believe the most common that does is an ear of corn. First you throw away the outside (the husk), then cook the inside (the corn ear), then eat the outside (corn), and throw away the cob!

It took me a while to figure out this riddle too. I am pretty sure that the answer is corn on the cob or an ear of corn. When you eat corn you peel off the husk and throw it away, then you cook and eat the corn, then you throw away the cob when you're done.

This is like a riddle. You have eventually made yourself eat both parts. So in the end it seems you have eaten both parts. Although after reding it again it seems you have thrown both parts away so maybe you have concumed nothing.
