The likely suspect if that your fuel injectors or carburetor has gotten a build up of grime over time. Try using a higher octane gas for a while and see if it runs better. You should also try using some fuel injector cleaner assuming that your car is fuel injected.

It is because you are using a lessor brand of gas and it has no detergent. Use a fuel system cleaner for a few tanks and that should fix it.

-Chances are that you have water in your gas tank and it is being disturbed by the action of being filled. Get some appropriate gas treatment from your local parts store and follow the directions for the next couple tanks ($2-$10). -And find a new gas station.

Check to make sure the type of gas you put in is the recommended octane for that vehicle. Lower octanes that are not recommend for a vehicle may cause the engine to run bad. Also check the spark plugs, and fuel injector.

Are you using the proper octane level for your vehicle? Try using different brands of gas to see if this helps. Also, as cars age, unwanted deposits collect in the gas tank, fuel lines and injectors. These can partially be removed by better gasoline products and additives that help flush out the chemicals and lubricate the internal lines.

Well this could be caused by a few things. Not knowing the car makes it hard to say what. You could possibly be putting in too low an octane gas. The new gas could be stirring up sediment in the tank and clogging the fuel filter. The gas cap might not be properly sealing when the new gas is added.
