It does work for some people, but it has the lowest rating of all the popular birth control pills on ratemydrug. Positive reviews are few and far between with many people discussing a variety of intense side effects from hair loss to severe mood swings. Effectiveness is also in question.

Cryselle, like many birth control pills, will work better for some people then others, as each person is different on how their body responds to birth control. Some have reported break through bleeding with Cryselle. If you experience such, contact your physician and evaluate its effectiveness.

Cryselle is an hormonal drug which contains combination of female hormones which prevents ovulation. It leads to changes in cervical mucus and uterine lining which does not allow sperm to reach uterus and also discourage fertilized egg to stick to uterus walls. Hence it works to prevent pregnency, but being hormonal drug should be taken under strict doctor's prescription

If taken properly all birth control pills have the highest rate of preventing pregnancy over any other form of birth control. It is very important that you take your birth control every day.

Cryselle works if you use it correctly and in the correct dosage. It may not work if you are taking antibiotics, Theophylline, barbiturates or other medications. No birth control method works 100% but if you follow the directions and the advice of your doctor, you can lessen your chances of pregnancy by taking this pill.
