Metoprolol is a medicine used to lower heart rate and blood pressure. It should not cause stomach pain. Try taking it with a small amount of food rather than on an empty stomach. If the pain is severe or does not stop, talk to your doctor about changing medicines.

Like all medications, Metroporol may cause some side effects; however, many people do not experience any, or only very mild, side effects. Stomach pain is one reported common side effect for Metroporol. Should you experience any severe symptoms, please seek medical attention.

You need to talk to your doctor to find out. The doctor would know more about it. The doctor can tell you if it does or not. Or check online for the answers.
