Do you have to be a certain age to go to gun ranges?

As long as they are accompanied by an adult, there are a lot of ranges that allow children. But in my opinion, children should not go to gun ranges becouse at their age, handling a gun is not really a skill, children should learn from their parents or from someone at the gun range.

I have been to gun ranges in Texas, Tennessee, and Missouri and I've seen children there as young as 7 years old. If they are accompanied by an adult they are allowed to come in. Now, very young children are with the parent in the gallery looking through the glass.

Most gun ranges require children to be at least 6 to go onto the air rifle or BB Gun range, 8 for the other ranges. There are no set federal laws as to age requirements, so the range can choose to set the age requirements. Some ranges require a safety class no matter what the age is if under 18.
