Oil and its various downstream refined products get traded across the Canada-USA border in both directions. While both the USA and Canada are oil producers, the USA is a net importer of oil, while Canada is a net exporter. Therefore, the result of the trade in oil between Canada and the USA is net export from Canada to the USA.

Canada exports fuel for refining to the United States. Diesel and fuel oil is often exported back to Canada after refining in the United States. However, more oil flows from Canada to the US.

Not anymore. Due to the oil sands developments in Alberta, Canada, Canada has been now exporting more oil to the United States than the U. S. sends to Canada. While there may still be some diesel and heating oil sent from US refineries to Canada, Canada now sends more oil south than is sent north to them.
