Do vents from a bathroom to the exterior require a screen?

You should definitely have a screen on any vent leading from the interior of your home to the exterior. If air goes out, critters can get in. There is no opening too small for an animal that wants to enter. Be sure to get screens that will not rust.

I believe building codes do require a screen on the vents; but this is obviously for good reason. Unless you enjoy various types of bugs, spiders, birds, and some other varmint having a great chance to access the interior of your house, then by all means do not add a screen; but for comfort it is mandatory.
