I have a toaster oven and I use it to bake everything instead of using my big oven. I have baked cake, cookies, muffins, fish, meat. I generally bring down the temperature though especially for baking cakes. Otherwise the top might burn but it is not cooked well. Mini toaster ovens do vary so it is best to just try.

It really depends on the toaster oven. Mine has the temperature setting that goes from 250 degrees all the way up to the broil setting. Although my toaster isn't big enough to bake a cake, it can thoroughly cook burgers or a small meatloaf.

I used to live in a studio apartment that had no oven and I had a toaster oven, I had lots of problems with baking raw foods as the oven is small and if you put the temperature up to the degree that you would cook in a normal oven it tended to burn the top before cooking the inside.

Not necessarily. I wouldn't use a toaster oven for large baked items such as cakes, pies or meatloaves because the foods may not cook thoroughly. Instead, you should just stick with a regular oven to bake meals like that. A toaster oven would be better for grilled cheese and ham sandwiches or for heating cold leftovers.
