Fleas prefer to live on furry creatures, like our family pets. Cats and dogs have the best habitat (a thick coat) and the right kind of food source (blood!) However, fleas can and will bite humans. From infested carpet to random encounters in bed, fleas can bite and leave an itchy red welt. Control them before they have a chance!

There is one rare species that can live on humans. Regular fleas are made to cling to hair, and we don't have enough, though they can and do bite people.

Fleas do not live on humans. They get on, bite, and get off, because humans lack fur. Fleas can transmit diseases, including plague and tapeworm. Some people are allergic to the bites of fleas.
