No. There can be many days between a Catholic's death and his/her burial. It is Jews who are buried by the next sundown.

Catholics don't have a specific timeframe for burial. It is preferable that a person's remains are placed in the ground, but cremation has been allowed since 1963.

THey do have to be buried or cremated in a timely matter. In the past they just wanted people to be buried. But now they allow them to be cremated too. I know that they have a day of visitation and rosery and/or prayer vigual. THe next day they have some visitaion and the funeral and burial.
