Baptists do not have godparents. Usually godparents are involved in a baby's baptism as an infant. Baptists do not practice infant baptism. Instead, they have full immersion baptism following a child's or adult's profession of faith. The child must be old enough to know what he or she is doing.

No, or at least not in the formal sense that Catholics (and other denominations with infant baptism) do. Some Baptists have informal godparents, but it's not a religious official position.
