Can you tell me how to do a transmission fluid change on a Toyota Sienna?

The owner's manual says it's time to do a transmission fluid change.

Put your Sienna up on a lift and remove the transmission fluid plug. Let all the fluid drain out and then refill it with fresh fluid.

The simplest way is to disconnect the transmission cooling lines that run to the bottom of the radiator. Crank the van and allow the fluid to run out on it's on. Do not drive the van without fluid. Replace lines and refill at the dipstick with a transmission funnel.

Check owners manual, you may not have to change the filter, my tacoma has a mesh screen that doesnt need tampered with.Remove the drain plug, after draining reinstall the drain plug. Purchase a skinny funnel and pour the required amount of fluid down the dipstick tube.

Changing fluid in any automatic transmission is the same. You need to take it to a reputable repair or transmission shop. They will have the proper machine to replace the fluid in your cars transmission.

There are a couple of ways to do this. The first is to drop the transmission pan, this will empty out about 4-5 quarts. Clean out pick up screen or replace filter if applicable. Other option is a mechanic with a transmission fluid transfusion machine. Replaces 99% of fluid.

If there is a fluid drain then drain the trans of the old fluid. If no then you will need to pull the pan and carefully drain the fluid into a catch pan. Check your filter and replace if necessary. Then replace the pan wit ha new gasket and fill with clean fluid.

Most of the time the pan gasket it a pain, but make sure the old gasket is completely removed. Also there is usually an O-ring on the filter too.
