Can you suggest some classic Texas decorations?

I want our den to be a "Texas" room for my husband.

If your husband's an alumni of a Texas university or college, then show school pride with pennants, jerseys, and football memorabilia. A framed state flag is another choice. Add some color with bluebonnets, the state flower.

Stars would be a great accent. Also, some western decorations like cowboys. Use the colors red, blue, and white. Don't forget a longhorn!

Photographs or paintings of Texas scenes, cowboys and cattle would be very effective. Items such as old horse shoes, pieces of barbed wire or rusty metal stars will give the room an authentic feeling. Live cactus plants would also be a nice touch.

Several Texas-themed items are fairly easy to find: cowboy boots and hats, the Texas Lonestar and the state flag. A collection of big belt buckles would make a neat wallhanging.
