You may have grounds for slander, although that is a long road to walk down. In the end, the HOA likely looked worse than anything he called you.

You can sue anyone for verbal assault but you have to make sure there is a witness because it is very difficult to prove he said, she said. If this is an ongoing assault try and get as much evidence as you can both written and witnessed by others

Yes, but can you prove damages? You would probably need to prove the HOA president intended to harm your reputation when the words were exchanged.

No, this is usually not possible. The possible action would be for threats to evict you or fine you without just cause. You could also accuse them of libel, if they publicly criticized your actions or opinions in a disparaging manner in front of others. This is especially true if they lied, not just exaggerated.

Yes you can. If you feel threatened or like you are going to be harmed you can at least report him to the local authorities and press charges on him. If you have enough evidence that he is doing this you can most certainly get a lawyer and sue him for his assault.

Of course you can sue for just about anything, but for frivolous lawsuits beware that you may be forced to pay court costs if the suit is brought over a rediculous act. It's better to discuss your situation with the HOA President. That will also help you if you have to go to court.
