Can you recommend some music for concentration?

I sometimes have problems focusing. Some suggested that music might help.

Andrew Weil's "A Symphony of Brainwaves" is helpful. "Sounds of the Forest" (Madacy Records)and Deuter's "Tibet: Nada Himalaya 2" are also great but make some people too sleepy.

Personally, I like to listen to Eric Whitacre's choral compositions. His music is mesmerizing and unique in every way to other composers of our generation. However, if you don't like choral music, I would suggest Iron and Wine. The music from Iron and Wine has a "folkish" feel, but is completely acoustic.

Any music in the post-rock genre is EXCELLENT for focusing the mind. Incredible bands to look in to are Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, These Trees Could Talk, and Mogwai. They're all (for the most part) instrumental, and they provide just enough intrigue to be good for focusing.

I would suggest either classical music that is slow from the baroque or early classical period or abient music. Abient music can either be in the form of long sounds strung together or even recordings of thunder storms, forests, and oceans.

Not so much music, but one thing that I can suggest is white noise. There's a very elaborate collection of library sounds, ocean sounds, etc. out there that can help you concentrate. If it's music you're after, stick with classical. It's very calming and can help you focus.
