Can you have a photography studio without a darkroom?

Yes, most definitely. Several photographers are now using digital cameras which do not need a darkroom. Several others including myself sometimes use film and sometimes use digital, and get film processed elsewhere.

Yes, the two are definitely not mutually exclusive. The studio is the place where the photos are taken and would contain lighting, backdrop and other necessities for the shooting. The darkroom is where film is developed and photos are printed. Most pro photographers don't even use film any more and thus don't need a darkroom, just a computer.
