Can you get a remedy for scabies OTC?

Or do you need a prescription?

Yes, Scabies can be treated with OTC medications. 10% concentrate Sulfur cream for adults works well. Also, Permethrin 5% concentrated cream also works. 10 mg. anthihistamines also work well to control the itching and to help you sleep. Wash all clothing, bedding and towels in very hot water with non-chlorine bleach. See your Doctor if this does not work.

You can buy Permathrin OTC at most drug stores or even online. You can also try a natural remedy such as using Tea Tree Oil or Sulphur based products.

You have to go to the doctor and get a perscription because it is a mite under the skin that causes it.

Some pharmacies carry an over the counter scabies ointment, though it's effectivness isn't what a percription can offer and often times they cause skin irritation due to the prolonged period you have to use it. It's better to see a doctor so your condition can be properly evaluated and treated.
