Wellbutrin does not affect birth control methods, specifically oral contraceptives. The prescribing physician and pharmacist should be aware of all other medications you take so that they can advise you of the effects, if any, of one on another.

While particular anti-depressants, including Wellbutrin, have been noted as safe during pregnancy, there do not appear to be many answers in regards to its conjunction with birth control. The best option is to consult your primary care physician and have them explain to you in detail whether or not either supplement affects the other.

It is recommended that you not take any birth control pills along with Bupropion (Wellbutrin) as it may increase your risk of seizure and other complications. It is not recommended you take ANY sort of medication alongside antidepressants without consulting your physician.

Wellbutrin is generally prescribed to patients as an antidepressant and to help people quit smoking. At this time, since there have been no reports of Wellbutrin causing adverse reactions when taken with any type of birth control, it has been determined that Wellbutrin does not cause birth control to become ineffective.

I was taking Wellbutrin then a year later, I added a birth control pill. After I added the birth control, my muscles became sore all the time, then I started to see very dark veins in my arms legs. Eventually I had to get off of both due to dizziness.

Wellbutin is an antidepressant and should not have any effects on your birth control. However, it is theoretically possible that it would alter your liver function and thereby make birth control ineffective but no link has been found.

No, Wellbutrin will not affect birth control usage. Wellbutrin is not an antibiotic, so therefore, will not have any affect on a person's hormones. Birth control is a hormonal medication, so it will not be affected.

your doctor will put you on the right meds. if your doctor knows you're on birth control, they wont put you on anything thatll make it less effective. not without strongly warning you, they legally have to. also, each brand of birthcontrol's different. they have different reactions to different medications.

Yes, if they're used incorrectly. If taken seperately (for example, Wellbutrin in morning and birthcontrol at night), they wont affect eachother. If they're taken together they may cancel eachother out. My phsychiatrist warned me but i took them both in the morning for a few days anyway, had unscheduled period.
