Can kittens from the same litter have different fathers?

My mother says yes, but I do not understand how this can be.

Yes, cats are capable of getting impregnated by more than one male because they have so many different eggs ready to be fertilized. Cases such as this have even been found among humans when the woman has released more than one egg into her uterus.

Yes, cats from the same litter can have different fathers. Female cats ovulate multiple eggs, so two fathers can fertilize different eggs.

No I do not believe this is true. A litter of kittens are all born at the same time. They grow at the same time inside the mother kitten, and so it is most likely no.

Yes, it is actually very common for litters of kittens to have different fathers. Female cats often mate with several males during their heat, so multiple cats' sperm can be swimming in the mother cat when they reach the eggs and fertilize them.
