Can I trace a letter sent through the US postal service?

The postal service does not trace letters for individuals unless something sinister or a crime is being committed. If you feel threatened or harrassed you can turn it over to the post master general and they can give it to the authorites for help.

The USPS moves about 700 million pieces of mail each day. The postmark is the best factor in determining processing and where the item entered the system, but unless the letters pose a threat to national security, it is unlikely that the USPS would spend any time "tracing" them. Contact the FBI if you feel it is warranted.

You cannot trace the path of a letter sent through the Post Office unless you got a tracking number when you went to send the letter. If your letter was not sent with a tracking number they will not know where it is because they don't keep track of every single letter sent through the mail.
