As long as you aren't swallowing much more than the amount generally used for brushing one's teeth, then yes, you can swallow it. It is generally not advised to swallow toothpaste because of its fluoride content, however the amount of fluoride in one "serving" is not enough to harm you.

I've been swallowing my toothpaste for years with no harmful effects. No indigestion either. I only use a pea size bit. Can't hurt, probably helps reduce decay. No fluoride in the water here in NJ. None naturally, and the wacko right wingers intimidate the public health officials to not add  add a comment

You can, although it really isn't good for you. Most toothpastes have chemicals in them that are mildly toxic, but that help to clean your teeth. Swallowing a small amount will not harm you, but it's best to avoid ingesting an huge amount of it.

Usually it is not fatal, but it is all about the quantity we consumed. Fluoride is the major content of the toothpaste. In children, the large intake of fluoride may leave stains on teeth, because of a decease called Fluorosis.

You should not swallow toothpaste as it contains Flouride. If our body accumulates a lot of Flouride , then it may have harmful affects. Fluoride is poisonous if it is in large quantities.

Swallowing a small amount of toothpaste occasionally, hopefully by accident should not harm an adult. Children should be watched to ensure they do not swallow toothpaste, as it can affect their small bodies more severly. Also frequent consumption of toothpaste is not advised.

You can definitely swallow toothpaste. It is a regulated and tested substance that is not going to cause you any long term problems. That said, you shouldn't eat toothpaste - too much will cause an upset stomach.

You should not swallow toothpaste. Toothpaste has chemicals in it to clean your teeth that are not healthy for your body. Swallowing a lot of toothpaste can cause stomach pain and even blockage of the intestines.

Swallowing a little bit, such as the amount used for brushing, won't harm you but might make you feel a little nauseated. It's not a good idea to swallow it frequently or in large amounts, because of the fluoride in it.
