Can I collect on my deceased ex-husband's pension?

This depends on how he set up his estate and pension. Unless he specifically left your name on the documents, then you will not be able to collect anything. Children, however, may have other rights that should be looked into upon the death of their father. See the papers first.

Only if you were married at the time of his death. Also if there are any other people such as ex-ex wives, offspring etc. they also may have a claim to the pension. In some places the Tax department may have first dibs on the pension if back taxes or liens are owed.

If you are currently married, then you can not collect. If your current husband dies, and your ex-husband's pension is more than your current deceased husband's, then yes you can. Contact the social security administration, either locally, or the main office, and they can tell you how to go about changing things.

Can II collect pension from my husband If he never divorced me. He died last year, however I went to city county building they said the divorced case was dismissed which means he never divorced me. It would help his sons out ..the sons he never tried to know.
