Are there injections for bipolar disorder meds?

the meds for this disorder are in pill form. From what I have learned and read I do not think they give shots for this unless in a hospital environment when needing to give a sedative that will have an effect almost immediately to help stabilize a patient so that the persons mood is controlled.

There is actually a new injectable for bipolar disorder which is called Resperidone Long Acting Injectable (RLAI) this has not been fully developed and are still doing trials but they say that it is used for frequent relapse of bipolar disorder and is done in 3 phases within a year, injecting this medicine with a placebo.

There is are some anti-psychotic medications that are available in injection form that can be used in the treatment of bipolar disorder. They are not the first line drugs used however.

Pschotropic meds are intended to be taken daily, by mouth.

You can get injections of variious antipsychotic medications that are used to treat bipolar disorder. For example there injections of resperidone that you can take once every two weeks, and clopixol which is used to treat many types of disorders including schizophrenia.

Treatment of bipolar diorders include moodstabilisers and antipsychotics.Antipsychotic medications are available in injectable forms (both depot and regular preparations)that maybe used for acute and maintenance therapy.

There are no injections for bipolar medications. Bipolar medications are always pill form. Many medications have a half life which would not be able to work through an injection.

The most effective medications for biploar are lithium and anti epileptics, both of which are not available in injection form.
