There are a lot of active volcanoes today. Most of them are located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. This ring includes many countries that bordered the Pacific Ocean.

There are several active volcanoes in the world, including Etna (Italy), Mauna Loa (Hawaii), Nyiragongo (Congo), Merapi (Java), Sakurajima (Japan), and Santa Maria, in Guatemala.

Yes, many. The Earth's crust is divided into seven major tectonic plates and dozens of smaller ones. If these plates are drifting apart, or one is pushed under the other, the Earth's magma will rise to the surface through a volcano (Italy, Mid-Atlantic Ridge). Occasionally you can also get a volcano in the middle of a tectonic plate (Iceland, Hawaii).
