Are brick mailboxes compliant with federal mail rules?

Compliance with federal mail rules doesn't seem to be the issue at present. The issue at hand is state, county and local laws/ordinances regarding right-of-way. There have been cases in several states that brick mailboxes were in the right-of-way causing obstruction. Liability concerns. Check with your officials.

Yes they are complaint. The brick itself can be as high as you want, but the mailbox itself must have the bottom of the mail compartment (box) 41 to 45 inches from the ground. Other than the height requirement, the box must have the address of the home post on the mailbox, some areas also require the street name.
