American Idol is the property of fox television company and is not a public good. All previous episodes are indeed stored, but they are distributed using different methods. Fox sells individual seasons and episodes through various venues such as digital distribution or DVD that are available to purchase. Some episodes can be found online, though are often pirated.

Some of the American Idol performances can be found on youtube or similar sites, however they are taken down frequently. The most recent ones are on , however to view all of the American Idol performances you should try and buy the seasons on dvd or start recording them from the television when it is on.

Go to Youtube or Hulu website you should find plenty or the dumb and funny moments for American Idol. I do not know of a single database to see them all.
