Birth control pills, have only set guildeline is to take one pill every single day around the same time. Skipping days can reduce the protection the pills give. Depending on what pill pack you got, you will have a period of 21 pills, then no pills for a week. Or, 21 pills followed by placebos (sugar pills), for a week.

You need to explain which one you are taking. There is a patch which you change once a week, called Ortho Evra. There are also a number of oral daily pills.

I am assuming you are referring to birth control pills. You should take one pill each day, at the same time each day. Treat the colored and non colored pills the same. Start a new pack once you run out of pills from your old pack. If you miss a day, refer to the enclosed directions.

You need to stop having sex immediatly. Then, talk to to the doctor that prescribed your medication and make sure you understand before you leave his office.
