Question by  lotteroo (10)

A baby water snail has appeared in my fish tank. I have no other snails/plants, so where has it come from?

My fish tank currently has 5 leopard/zebra danios, one black moor, and 3 mountain minnows. It previously has a sucker fish and another black moor but sadly they died. I also previously had 3 live plants in there. The snail has just appeared but where has it come from, and will it survive?

The snail may have come in the water of one of your recently acquired fish. Snails are both male and female in the same body, so look out!

It more than likely was attached to one of the plants that you had previously had. More than likely he will survive. They tend to eat algae in the tank.
